Details

This integration uses pre-built, source-available components from Pipedream's GitHub repo. These components are developed by Pipedream and the community, and verified and maintained by Pipedream.

To contribute an update to an existing component or create a new component, create a PR on GitHub. If you're new to Pipedream component development, you can start with quickstarts for trigger span and action development, and then review the component API reference.

Trigger

YouTube (Data API) Overview

There are lots of things you can build using the YouTube API! Here are just a
few examples:

  • A YouTube video player
  • A YouTube search engine
  • A tool to help you find popular videos on YouTube
  • A way to keep track of your favorite YouTube videos
  • A way to find new and interesting YouTube channels to watch

Trigger Code

import youtubeDataApi from "../../youtube_data_api.app.mjs";
import common from "./common.mjs";

/**
 * Uses [YouTube API](https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/docs) to get the authenticated user's
 * subscriptions with a `totalItemCount` for each. The user's subscriptions are used to get the
 * subscribed-to channels. Then the ID of the 'uploads' playlist in each channel is used to get
 * playlist items of recently uploaded videos. Process is taken roughly from [this stackoverflow
 * comment](https://bit.ly/3lp4uRS).
 *
 * Sequence: Subscriptions -> Channels -> PlaylistItems
 *
 * The YouTube API allows [listing channels](https://bit.ly/3Fh5Hm2) using a comma-separated list of
 * channel IDs, so channels are fetched using a single series of paginated requests. To list
 * playlist items [PlaylistItems](https://bit.ly/2WN7EW2), a separate request must be made for each
 * channel's 'uploads' playlist. To limit the number of requests, playlist items are fetched only
 * for channels (subscriptions) whose [totalItemCount](https://bit.ly/3ldUYAR) is greater than the
 * last recorded `totalItemCount`.

Trigger Authentication

YouTube (Data API) uses OAuth authentication. When you connect your YouTube (Data API) account, Pipedream will open a popup window where you can sign into YouTube (Data API) and grant Pipedream permission to connect to your account. Pipedream securely stores and automatically refreshes the OAuth tokens so you can easily authenticate any YouTube (Data API) API.

Pipedream requests the following authorization scopes when you connect your account:

emailprofilehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonlyhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.uploadhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube

Discord Bot Overview

The Pipedream Discord app enables you to build event-driven workflows that interact with the Discord API. When you authorize the Pipedream app's access to your guilds, you can use Pipedream workflows to perform common Discord actions, or write your own code against the Discord API.

Action Code

import common from "../../common.mjs";

const { discord } = common.props;

export default {
  ...common,
  key: "discord_bot-add-role",
  name: "Add Role",
  description: "Assign a role to a user. Remember that your bot requires the `MANAGE_ROLES` permission. [See the docs here](https://discord.com/developers/docs/resources/guild#add-guild-member-role)",
  type: "action",
  version: "0.0.11",
  props: {
    ...common.props,
    userId: {
      propDefinition: [
        discord,
        "userId",
        ({ guildId }) => ({
          guildId,
        }),
      ],
    },
    roleId: {
      propDefinition: [
        discord,
        "roleId",
        ({
          guildId, userId,
        }) => ({
          guildId,
          userId,
          isAddRole: true,
        }),
      ],
    },
  },
  async run({ $ }) {
    const response = await this.discord.addGuildMemberRole({
      $,
      guildId: this.guildId,
      userId: this.userId,
      roleId: this.roleId,
    });

    if (!response) {
      return {
        id: this.roleId,
        success: true,
      };
    }

    return response;
  },
};

Action Configuration

This component may be configured based on the props defined in the component code. Pipedream automatically prompts for input values in the UI.

Action Authentication

Discord Bot uses API keys for authentication. When you connect your Discord Bot account, Pipedream securely stores the keys so you can easily authenticate to Discord Bot APIs in both code and no-code steps.

This app allows you to use the Discord API using your own Discord bot. If you don't want to use a custom bot, and you just need to use the Discord API, exit this screen and use the Discord app, instead.

If you want to use your own Discord bot, but haven't created one yet, see these instructions or watch this video. You'll need to add this bot to your server(s) to make successful API requests.

Once you've created your bot, you'll find the Bot token within the Bot section of your app. Enter that token below.
