Configuration#

This component may be configured based on the props defined in the component code. Pipedream automatically prompts for input values in the UI and CLI.

Channel Type	`channelType`	`string`	Select a value from the drop down menu.
Channel	`conversation`	`string`	Select a value from the drop down menu.
Text	`text`	`string`	Text of the message to send (see Slack's formatting docs). This field is usually necessary, unless you're providing only attachments instead.
Send text as Slack mrkdwn	`mrkdwn`	`boolean`	`true` by default. Pass `false` to disable Slack markup parsing. See docs here
Schedule message	`post_at`	`string`	Messages can only be scheduled up to 120 days in advance, and cannot be scheduled for the past. The datetime should be in ISO 8601 format. (Example: `2014-01-01T00:00:00Z`)
Include link to Pipedream	`include_sent_via_pipedream_flag`	`boolean`	Defaults to `true`, includes a link to Pipedream at the end of your Slack message.
Customize Bot Settings	`customizeBotSettings`	`boolean`	Customize the username and/or icon of the Bot

Authentication#

Bot for Slack uses API keys for authentication. When you connect your Bot for Slack account, Pipedream securely stores the keys so you can easily authenticate to Bot for Slack APIs in both code and no-code steps.

New Direct Message from the Bot for Slack API

Emit new event when a message is posted in a direct message channel (Bot). To open a conversation, use the Pipedream Action "Send a Direct Message" to send a message from the Bot, or enable direct messages to the Bot in your App Settings (Settings->App Home->Show Tabs->Messages Tab), and send a direct message to the Bot.
