Azure DevOps ACTION
Run Pipeline
Trigger a run of a YAML pipeline, optionally on a specific branch and with template parameters or variable overrides. Returns the run's id and state; the run itself proceeds asynchronously. Set Preview Run to validate instead: Azure DevOps then starts nothing and returns the final expanded YAML document rather than a run. Use this to deploy or test on demand. Example: pipeline
12 on refs/heads/main. Run the List Pipelines action first to obtain the pipeline id. See the documentation- Action

IMPLEMENTATION
Call this tool
Connect a user's Azure DevOps account once, then configure and run Run Pipeline from your backend or agent.
import { PipedreamClient } from "@pipedream/sdk"
const pd = new PipedreamClient({
projectId: process.env.PIPEDREAM_PROJECT_ID!,
clientId: process.env.PIPEDREAM_CLIENT_ID!,
clientSecret: process.env.PIPEDREAM_CLIENT_SECRET!,

Inputs
Pipedream supplies the connected account. Your application provides the operation-specific values below. Dynamic inputs are resolved against that user's account.
| Property | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
organization Organization | string | Name of the organization Required Dynamic |
project Project | string | Project ID or project name. Run the List Projects action first to obtain valid values. Required |
pipelineId Pipeline ID | integer | Numeric ID of the pipeline. Run the List Pipelines action first to obtain valid values. Required |
branch Branch | string | Fully qualified branch to run the pipeline from, e.g. refs/heads/main. Defaults to the pipeline's default branch. Optional |
templateParameters Template Parameters | object | Runtime parameters declared by the pipeline YAML, keyed by parameter name. Example: { "environment": "staging" } Optional |
variables Variables | object | Pipeline variables to override, keyed by variable name. Example: { "buildConfig": "Release" } Optional |
stagesToSkip Stages To Skip | string[] | Names of pipeline stages to skip in this run Optional |
previewRun Preview Run | boolean | Do not start a run - return the final expanded YAML document instead Optional |

Tool details
Behavior hints are published with the component in the Pipedream registry and surface as MCP tool annotations, so an agent can reason about a tool before it calls it.
