MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It’s a shared way for AI assistants to use tools from other apps. A tool might search for a document, look up a customer, or create a task. Conduit uses MCP to connect your assistant to the apps and tools your organization makes available. Connect your assistant to Conduit once, then choose which connectors to enable.

What does this mean during setup?

Your assistant may ask you to add an MCP server. In these guides, that server is Conduit: copy the server URL from Conduit’s Home page and follow your assistant’s setup instructions. You don’t need to install something called “MCP” or understand how the protocol works. Start with Connect your AI assistant. For more background, see the official MCP introduction.
