Why is there no proper tracking of cost for Connect Proxy usage and why is each call billed as one full credit?

hi everyone, i’m having some big confusion with your Connect Proxy after many back and forth with your support. my system is fully integrated with Connect proxies, but I am having big doubts due to:

  1. There is no way to track the cost. I think there is now a List Usage endpoint thankfully, but that’s only good for my own general reporting. Connect Proxy is by nature for platforms, we need a way to track EACH CALL. This is a big blind spot, I was billed hundreds of dollars (but thankfully reverted) for a customer’s error due to repetitive calls. Zero visibility into anything about billing here, no budgeting etc.
  2. I was just told a few minutes ago, Connect Proxy calls are billed 1 CREDIT PER CALL. Is this correct? Everywhere you are saying 1 credit = 30 seconds computing. My calls take very little time, around 200-500ms and I am being charged 1 FULL CREDIT for each one of them? This is truly crazy and not documented anywhere. Billing documentation is really missing a lot about proxies.
I am very confused at this point. No way to properly track cost; and now this huge cost per call, I feel helpless. Please advise.

We’re aware of #1 being an inconvenience and yes, we currently provide an endpoint to track usage, but do not provide it on a per-request basis yet. This is already on the team’s radar.

Regarding #2, this works the same way as it does for workflow executions, action/source executions via connect, and MCP tool calls (docs here). Any of these operations cost 1 credit per 30 seconds of compute time, meaning if it takes 40-60 seconds it’ll cost 2 credits, but we do not add up multiple, separate executions’ compute time - each execution is its own self-contained operation, billed at a minimum of 1 credit.

hi , thank you, okay, so any single proxy call less than 30 seconds (which almost all of are) would cost 1 credit. This is a no-no pricing structure for platforms, I will have to migrate off. Thank you for the info.
