Why Can't My Workflow Authenticate My <http://Wordpress.org|Wordpress.org> Credentials Despite Multiple Password Changes?

This topic was automatically generated from Slack. You can find the original thread here.

Hi! I have been trying to get my workflow to authenticate my Wordpress.org credentials for the last hour. I changed the Application Password 3x, tried to use the no code and code options and every time it says password incorrect and I know for sure it isn’t. Is there any guidance on if this is a bug when will it be fixed and how I can get this to work ASAP?

It seems like your question might have been cut off. Could you please provide more details or clarify your question? This will help me give you the most accurate and helpful answer. Thank you!

cc can you help here?

Hi , we’ve made some updates on our side - can you try again?

omg… of course! Thanks so much and trying now

still giving this error

just so I am clear I am doing the right thing I should be using this password

blocked it out for security reasons but that is where the application passwords store under the users in their profiles and I am using that as indicated in the notice on the authentication screen in pipedream

, can you confirm if this looks correct to you? I don’t have access to a self-hosted wordpress currently.

Yes, that’s where the Application Password is located.

Erica, when you click Add New Application password, does it generate one for you?

yes

would you like me to create another one?

so when you click Add New Application password, it generates something

Your new password for Pipedream is: _____

what version of wordpress are you using by the way?

just updated before I started this to 6.6 I think… looking for the confirmation now…

yes I am on 6.6

ok, i’ve tested end to end successfully on my end - I’m not sure why this is failing for you, I’m also on 6.6

So you’re in ...wp-admin/users.php

you pick the username that you want to add an application password for, note that down for username
