That same functionality (ability to use your own OAuth client) was ported over to the main HubSoot app. Does that solve your problem?
Hi Danny, sorry not sure what you mean. I tested my workflow using the main HubSpot app but got error saying not enough permissions
The mission scope is for HubSpot Developers
The HubSpot developer app didn’t have any scopes pre-defined, it just let you configure your own client ID, client secret, and scopes. You can now do exactly that with the main HubSpot app if when connecting you select “Use custom OAuth client”
Ah thanks for the explanation! Now I see the option and I’ll play around with it
Great, no problem! For my own information, had you ever noticed that custom OAuth option in the UI before?
Nope
Good to know! I wonder how we can make that more obvious and intuitive…
Do you have any ideas for how we could show that functionality to you when you need it?
Yea that is similar to one of the initial approaches we considered, but it’s slightly more of a power user feature and probably not necessary to the majority use case, but it might be worth experimenting. Or at least exploring some similar alternatives.
You’re not the first who needed this functionality but who missed the feature in the UI
To be honest, if just for my use case - HubSpot, I also like the previous design to call it a Developer App and also shown on the app list
Why do you like that approach better?
That’s intuitive to me as it means I’m kinda developing an workflow that users need to authenticate to run
Maybe just me
I’m not a developer btw
Sorry, I don’t follow — can you elaborate on what’s more intuitive about that other flow?
