Error - How to Take Perfect Notes with Your Voice Using ChatGPT and Notion

First post here - set up the new Voice Notes capture in Pipedream with no issue. It transcribes a file manually added to my Transcription folder with no issues. However with the first iteration of this code TJF did back in 2023, I was able to use Audio Hijack and live record a file for notes and when I ended the recording, the file would recognized in the folder and would transcribe. However, with this version of the code I get an error that is attached. Do I have to manually add files with this new code?

Hi @labryant777,

It seems like you’re encountering an issue with the transcription of live-recorded audio files using Pipedream’s Voice Notes capture feature. Based on the information you’ve provided, it’s not clear what specific error you’re encountering when trying to transcribe live-recorded files. However, I can offer some general advice and steps you might consider to troubleshoot or adjust your workflow.

  1. Check the File Format and Encoding: Ensure that the audio files produced by Audio Hijack are in a format and encoding supported by the transcription service you’re using. The error might be related to an incompatible file format.

  2. File Accessibility: Make sure that the file is fully written and closed by Audio Hijack before Pipedream attempts to access it for transcription. If the file is still being written to or locked by Audio Hijack, it might not be accessible for transcription.

  3. Workflow Trigger: Review the trigger for your Pipedream workflow. If you’re relying on a file creation event in a specific folder, ensure that the path to the Transcription folder is correctly specified and that Pipedream has the necessary permissions to monitor this folder.

  4. Error Logs: The error message in the screenshot you attached might contain valuable information about why the transcription is failing. If possible, please share the specific error message or code you’re receiving.

  5. Manual vs. Automated File Addition: Based on your description, it seems like manually added files are transcribed without issue, but automatically added files (via Audio Hijack) encounter an error. This distinction might point to an issue with how files are being closed or made accessible by Audio Hijack, rather than a problem with the Pipedream workflow itself.

Without more specific details about the error message or the exact configuration of your Pipedream workflow, it’s challenging to provide a precise solution.
