Why Does Google Sheets create_spreadsheet Action Always Save to My Drive Instead of Shared Drive?

This topic was automatically generated from Slack. You can find the original thread here.

Trying to use the Google Sheets create_spreadsheet action to make a new spreadsheet in a shared Google drive but no matter what I select it always ends up saving to My Drive, not the shared one. Can someone see if they can recreate this / if it’s a bug? Or is something wrong on my end? I tried deleted and recreating the step, making a new shared drive, and selecting different shared drives. Always saves to My Drive :disappointed:

Do I need to add some pipedream email address to the shared drive for it to work? It doesn’t seem that way since I’ve connected with my Google account

Thanks for raising this. I will try to reproduce on my end and get back to you soon

Thanks Leo! I feel like I’m going crazy here :face_with_spiral_eyes:

FWIW I am able to make it work by creating the spreadsheet, then using the move_file action under Google Drive to relocate it

Hi , thank you for raising this issue! I can reproduce it! This is a bug on Pipedream so I’ve created a ticket here to fix it. Please subscribe to the ticket to be noticed when it is available

It’s good to know that you find a workaround for now. Please do share with us any issue that you faced when working with Pipedream!

Unrelated, but also having an issue with the slack action update_message where I can’t seem to update a previous message sent by a bot as a reply/thread. But haven’t tested extensively yet. Seems like this might be a somewhat uncommon use though, so figure I’d raise it early.
