Triple is not so bad!
Some companies hike the price 10x-100x
yeah. i’m regretting not getting more done when i had 20k credits a month.
for 3x do I get to be an asshole about the lack of instagram app?
: I wonder if it might be a possibility to allow users to purchase credits in bulk, and then use them over time?
For you it would be money up front (confirmed, in the bank, no refunds, no forecasting), and for the customers it would allow them to save a bit on the total amount based on the volume discount (which could be different than the volume discount on monthly usage).
For example, we have a vendor (ipregistry) that works like that.
And right before they increased their pricing (by about 50% IIRC), they sent a shout out to their customers to let them know that it would be a good time to purchase some credits (before the price goes up).
So at that point we went ahead and purchased millions of credits. Still haven’t used even half of them.
On the bright side, $69 is really cheap compared to hiring an engineer to implement something (on AWS for example).
You’d get max 2 hours of work for that price tag.
I can get 3 months of GPT for that too. If we’re comparing value like suggested then we’re not in the same ballpark. Not even the same sport.
That’s not fair, I’ll give them same ballpark to GPT. It’s an interesting debate.
