Why Did Pipedream Move Premium Apps to the Basic Plan?

Update on Premium Apps - Last week we launched a new feature restricting access to a limited number premium applications to only paid users on the Advanced Plan. The logic was that we spend millions of dollars a year building integrations and there are a few apps that are either (a) primarily used by at scale businesses or (b) complex / expensive for us to integrate.

Unfortunately, this change unintentionally impacted individual developers / SMBs, particularly those building their first workflows with Pipedream, and the Advanced plan was too expensive for users with simple, low volume workflows. In addition, we also heard a variety of additional feedback from users on Slack including @U02NF9HLN3H @U03UFEFDN4B @U05C35EAN93 & more.

We discussed internally over the weekend and made the quick decision to move Premium Apps to the Basic Plan. We believe this strikes the right balance between making sure at scale businesses pay for the product and we don’t restrict the use for individual / SMB developers or first time users. This change is live.

We greatly appreciate your feedback to make Pipedream the best product it can be.

Awesome . Really love that you heard the users perspective and found a win-win solution.

I have another suggestion with respect to premium apps. You can charge additional credit (s) for every invocation of premium apps so that those who use them heavily will pay more.

I also left a review on Trust Pilot which was long pending. Just mentioning here thinking other users who read may do the same

Agreed, thank you , this will keep us building out our integrations in Pipedream. It’s a great product, it has saved me countless hours already.

Hi, I miss the days when I convinced my former employer to subscribe to pipedream $5 plan.
Now that I am funding my own company, I find Pipedream much more expensive and I started watching other alternatives. Anyway, I’m loyal and decided to subscribe to the Basic plan.

BUT today I stoped my co-founder from subscribing after seeing that premium apps are for Advanced accounts:

After reading this post I’m confused. Premium apps are for Basic accounts or not?
