Hey Pipedream Team! I’ve connected to the HubSpot Pipedream MCP server so I can access custom objects in our HubSpot portal, however it looks like there is a bug somewhere. I gave all of the scopes so that it can access custom objects, and it was able to pull that we have a Site Object, but it is telling me that it can’t pull properties due to tool limitations. @U02A06JPKEH
Also to note: Disregard where it says “Zendesk integration” → our Security team originally wanted to use Pipedream MCP for Zendesk and named the https://mcp.pipedream.net/v2 as Zendesk which he is going to change. I have enabled connected/auth’d into HubSpot
Hi Tyler, yeah this seems like something that should be a one-shot for the agent, our ‘Get Properties’ tool lists standard object options. It might work if you ask the agent to specifically pass your custom object identifier into ‘objectType’ for that tool - but still, not ideal if you have to specify this at such a low level.
We should probably look into expanding the tools available specifically for custom objects, cc
The Custom object is a really important object for us. We are in the wifi hospitality space, so we use HubSpot’s Company object primarily for the Enterprise Brands + partners, but then have a “Sites” Custom Object where we house site property information like Go-Live Date, Hotel Site Code ID, Brand, etc. Claude’s native HubSpot connector has a known limitation of not servicing custom objects, so we wanted to get your MCP working.
Hey - I can look into expanding the available tool set. Have some questions that’ll help me dig in further:
• Are you only running into this with Site custom objects?
• Can you expose the tools loaded and share? It’ll give me an idea of what/how the MCP is routing requests
• What were you trying to do before the prompt in your first screenshot? Pull a list of properties, create or update a site record, etc
It looks like it isn’t pulling any Deal information either. I also shared screenshots of the tools, I believe it includes Zendesk tools also.
I was asking if it had access to Sites, but it was saying what I shared in the initial screenshot. I also asked for “All sites that have a go live in May” and it returned “Unfortunately, the same limitation applies here — the connector simply won’t accept a custom object type ID, so I can’t filter Site records by go-live date (or any other property) through this tool.”
