Hey, Connect customer here. We’re getting Google’s “This app is blocked” error on the google_contacts app (People API contacts scope) when connecting an account.
It worked fine through early May (we have successful consent flows from that period), but new connections have been failing since roughly May 29. The same Google account can connect to your gmail app successfully on the same day, which makes it look specific to the google_contacts shared OAuth client and its contacts-scope authorization rather than a broader Google or Pipedream issue.
Did the verification for the contacts scope lapse, or did Google reclassify/review the scope and require re-verification for the shared client? Do you have any information on what changed and an ETA for restoration?
Happy to share details, screenshots, or request IDs via DM if that helps with investigation.
Exactly at conncetion/reconnection, right now we’re lucky our customers have it already connected, so it’s not yet an issue - but the moment a new customer tries to connect it it’ll be blocked.
It strongly points to google blocking pipedream’s aggressive scopes - but this has been working in early may. Like the Perplexity comment above, I’m not sure when exactly it got blocked on PD’s side.
It looks like two updates were pushed this month. Let me dig in and try to repro it to confirm to cause. Do you have a rough idea of when the connection fails started? I can cross-reference this with our logs.
