Hi there, the source is waiting for an event to come in. Can you send a message in the channel that you’ve configured and see if it gets triggered?
send a message in this channel?
or in my own Slack workspace?
However you configured that source. Which workspace did you connect it to?
oh it worked now thank you so much! So would it only work for the specific channel that I sent the test message to?
Do I need to send a test message to all the channels that I want to connect to Mattermost?
You should be able to configure the channel you’d like to listen to messages in the source settings.
Oh yea, in the “Channels” section of the trigger part of the workflow, I selected all the channels that I want to have receive messages from Mattermost. So I guess this is sufficient then? I wouldn’t have to send a test message to each of these channels so it comes under the dropdown where it says “Select event”?
Oh I understand your question — the test message is so that you have a sample event to help build out the rest of your workflow, to populate throughout your workflow steps.
Right. Then once you deploy your workflow it’ll get triggered on messages in any of those channels.
Oh perfect thank you so much! And another quick question - I want to connect the Mattermost workspace of a colleague to my Slack workspace. I have the domain URL, client ID, client secret, and authorized redirect URLs. Do I also need to have a login to their Mattermost workspace? Or will this not be necessary if I have the domain URL, client ID, and client secret already?
Yea it’ll likely ask you to log in with that person’s account after you enter those details.
oh got it perfect! that makes sense because every time I enter the domain URL, client ID, and client secret, I am met with a login page. Thank you so much ![]()
No problem! Glad you got it working!
Thanks Danny! Also quick question - is it possible to share a workflow?
So in case my colleague doesn’t want me to have the login credentials for Mattermost, I can share the workflow with them and they can edit?
Unfortunately not yet — if you’ll be collaborating on workflows together I’d recommend creating an org to them.
Then you can invite your colleague in to that org so you can both edit workflows and add separate auth provisions (account connections)
also - how do I map channels from Mattermost to Slack? So I set my workflow up as per the screenshot. If let’s say there’s a channel in Mattermost that someone sends a message in, how do I make sure that message gets to a corresponding channel in Slack?
So let’s say there’s channel x in Mattermost and a message is sent in there, how do I make sure that message is sent in channel y in Slack?
