claire froelich : is there any way to make a pipedream integration into slack without being workspace owner (for example, by getting permission from workspace owner?)
Tod Sacerdoti : is the most familiar with the Slack integration so I will add him to add his thoughts.
Our app is currently in the Slack approval process to be listed in the app directory so we hope to have it live in a few weeks. We haven’t been through their process before so we don’t know how long it will take.
Dan Hsiung : Just following up on what Tod said, depending on the configuration of the workspace you’re wanting to integrate with Pipedream, our app being listed in the Slack App Directory may [or may not] be helpful. There are settings in paid Slack workspaces that determine which apps can be installed to that workspace. Workspace owners have the option to allow all apps, whitelist a smaller number of apps, or only allow apps that are listed in the Slack App Directory. If the latter is the case for the workspace you’re referring to, then you should be in luck when we’re added to the directory (hopefully soon)! If it is a case of whitelisted apps, then you’ll still have to request our app be added to the whitelist by the workspace owner. Hope this helps clear things up!
claire froelich : Awesome thanks. In our case, pipe dream interface wasn’t letting me add Slack as an integration because i am not the Slack workspace owner. The workspace owner is fine with adding a pipedream slack app - once it exists! haha
