Hi Team - I would like for my internal team to start using the MCP servers that Pipedream offers through Open AI ChatGPT. I only see individual account authentication through Gmail? What is the best way to have a team account and also be able to use the MCP servers that pipedream offers using the Open AI client?
Based on your question, it sounds like you want your internal team to use Pipedream’s MCP (Managed Compute Plane) servers with the OpenAI integration, but you’re only seeing individual authentication via Gmail and want to know the best way to set up a team account and use MCP servers with OpenAI. Here’s a step-by-step overview and recommendations: — ## 1. Team Accounts and Authentication - Pipedream supports Teams: You can create a Pipedream Team, which allows multiple users to collaborate on workflows, share resources, and manage billing centrally. - Authentication for OpenAI: When you add the OpenAI app to a workflow, each user can connect their own OpenAI API key, or you can share a single OpenAI connection across the team. - Gmail Authentication: The Gmail integration uses OAuth and requires each user to authenticate with their own Gmail account. However, for OpenAI, you authenticate with an API key, not Gmail. If you’re only seeing Gmail authentication, you might be looking at the Gmail integration, not OpenAI. For OpenAI, you should be prompted to enter an API key. — ## 2. Using MCP Servers - MCP (Managed Compute Plane): When you run workflows in a Team workspace, you can configure them to run on MCP servers. This is managed at the workspace level. - OpenAI Integration: You can use the OpenAI app in your workflows, and those workflows will run on MCP if your workspace is configured for it. — ## 3. Best Practices for Team Usage 1. Create a Pipedream Team Workspace - Go to your Pipedream dashboard and create a Team workspace. - Invite your team members to join the workspace. 2. Centralize OpenAI Authentication - In the Team workspace, connect the OpenAI app using your organization’s API key. This connection can be shared across workflows. - Team members can use this shared connection in their workflows. 3. Configure MCP Usage - Ensure your Team workspace is set to use MCP servers. This is typically managed by your Pipedream admin or via support if you need to enable/upgrade. 4. Workflow Setup - Build workflows in the Team workspace using the OpenAI app. - All executions will use the MCP servers if the workspace is configured accordingly. — ## 4. Troubleshooting and Support - If you are only seeing Gmail authentication and not OpenAI, double-check that you are adding the OpenAI app, not Gmail. - If you need help setting up a Team workspace or enabling MCP, please visit Support - Pipedream. — ## Summary - Use a Team workspace for shared access and centralized billing. - Connect OpenAI via API key (not Gmail) and share the connection. - Ensure MCP is enabled for your Team workspace. - Build workflows in the Team workspace to use MCP and shared OpenAI authentication. If you need more detailed, step-by-step instructions for any of these steps, or run into issues, please let me know!
Hi , I have 100+ internal company users. We want to allow them to use mcp.pipedream.com to connect with the 3000+ Mcp servers that Pipedream has already build. From here, they can integrate it in Claude, ChatGPT etc
What will be the correct plan that I have to select in Pipedream? I understand that there is a free tier for this but I really need the plan that supports the 100+ users. Does it make sense?
Got it. Today that is part of the free service we provide and there’s no paid plan available for that set of features. Each user will just connect their own accounts directly — we don’t currently provide admin controls or management configurations for that service.
Too good to be Free
Is there any limitations on their usage? Ideally I wanted a portal so i can invite users and enable or disable available apps for them. Bigger dreams… Visibility on how they use the mcp tools, logging etc
