Dropbox Create Update Share Link Returning Root Folder Link: Bug or Feature?

Not sure if it’s a bug or not. But when I use the create update share link for any file on dropbox lately it’s just been returning a share link to the root folder

Hi , I couldn’t reproduce your issue, as I can get the valid link.

Maybe you can check your action configuration again? Or you can submit a ticket here with the steps to reproduce your issue?

Hi . Thanks for helping :slightly_smiling_face: My configuration is just taking the path from a “new file” event trigger. I put the input and output screenshots below. You can see even though I give it an MP4 it retuns the root folder. I’m not sure how to reproduce this though as it’s set up exactly how it should be as far as I’m aware. It’s been working for several months but it recently showed an update for the component and hasn’t worked since

I have tested the whole flow with New File and Create/Update Shared Link. Though it still works correctly for me (setup similarly to yours). Could you delete your existing Dropbox action and create a new one?

Also, have you tried to update your component?

Not sure how to update the components but it’s currently version 0.0.5. When I create it again from scratch it does the same thing exactly. Though interestingly if I create a new trigger for “new file” it refuses to acknowledge most of the directories exist but my old trigger does show it (I put a screenshot below as well, the folder definitely does exist)

Maybe your folders are somehow not regconized by Dropbox anymore. Could you try to create a new folder in Dropbox root dir and upload a file there?
