Is there any revenue share / partner programme for Pipedream? Would be nice if I could share some of the revenue for clients I refer to paid Pipedream accounts
Shame it’s only for the first 12 months, typically I’d be supporting clients ongoing with their Pipedream setups.
Shopify’s model works well where they pay for the lifetime of the account, as it makes the incentive bigger and bigger with more clients that are referred.
I think they have a requirement that you have to refer at least 1 new client per year to keep getting the commission, which just checks to make sure the partner is still active.
Personally I’m far more likely to proactively set up a concerted ongoing effort to build referrals over the long term if the commission is for the life of the account.
I get that maybe the economics don’t add up from your side, but that’s a calculation only you can make.
Might be worth splitting it into 2 types of schemes:
• Partners that are registered and actively help to onboard individual clients to the service, and are writing and managing workflows for them - consider lifetime commission
• Affiliates that are just sharing their link, and don’t get involved with any management or help using Pipedream at all (e.g. they have a blog or newsletter where they share their affiliate links, there’s no proper relationship between the affiliate and the referred customer) - consider 12 month cap
Oh the other thing is that it may be useful to have a landing page that mentions they are signing up with a partner, and potentially offer them some kind of extra benefit like a bunch of free credits, or extended trial, etc.
Here is Hotjar’s referral page for an example:
They too also reinforce the idea of partners being ongoing relationship type arrangements.
