Hi Pipedream Team,
I’ve run into a critical UX issue with the AI workflow builder. When the conversation reaches the message/context limit (“Context Exceeded – The conversation has reached the maximum length”), I lose the ability to continue improving my workflow with AI.
The workflow itself is still in my dashboard, but AI mode becomes unusable. This defeats the whole purpose of having an AI builder: most users rely on AI specifically because they don’t know how to use the manual editor, and being forced into it creates a dead end for the majority of non-technical users.
This has major impact:
- Iterative development work is lost
- Breaks the natural flow of building integrations
- Forces restarts or switching tools mid-project
- Risks discouraging non-technical users from adopting the platform
My key questions:
- Is this context/message limit tied to all plans, or would upgrading (e.g., Advanced/Business) allow continued AI-assisted editing?
- If it’s a hard cap, are there plans to allow re-attaching AI assistance to an existing workflow, so context comes from the workflow itself rather than just conversation history?
This would make a huge difference in usability for non-technical builders.
