Are there any plans, short or long term, for a visual workflow layout; similar to that of n8n?

David McKay : Are there any plans, short or long term, for a visual workflow layout; similar to that of n8n?

David McKay : Side note: I don’t personally care for one, but a colleague was asking and I said I’d check

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : When we add support for looping / branching constructs (planned long-term), the current linear step design will need to change to support that.

Beyond that I’m not sure if the editor will be completely free-form, or not. I hope that’s not too vague, but it isn’t an immediate priority, so I don’t have a good feel for the final design given those use cases.

David McKay : No, that’s fine. Thanks!

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : we also plan to support multiple triggers in the UI (currently this is supported via API). So the UI will need to adapt to that, as well.

David McKay : Yeah, multiple triggers in the UI would be good to have

David McKay : Loop is something I’ve thought would be cool too, since you mentioned it. Looping and matrix execution. Is there an issue for that i can follow?

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : Loop action · Issue #193 · PipedreamHQ/pipedream · GitHub

David McKay : Cheers Dylan

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : no problem, keep the feedback coming

David McKay : What’s in the short term roadmap?

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : most of what we’re working on now is related to the first-time user experience. For example, we’re changing the UX (new left nav, trigger / step selector), we just shipped an onboarding checklist paired with tutorials, etc.

We’re also making improvements to actions to support e.g. dropdowns (so users can select resources tied to their account vs. having to enter IDs), and working on a “marketplace” of apps / actions so that each app has its own dedicated page, and to make it easier to find common actions / workflows.

David McKay : If I could only request one feature, besides TS support, it would be the ability to update my actions when the original action is updated.

Dylan Sather (Pipedream) : noted and shared with the team!

David McKay : Sweet. Thanks again.:+1:
