  3. Configure the Execute Query action
    1. Connect your Microsoft SQL Server account
    2. Configure Query
    3. Optional- Configure Inputs
  4. Deploy the workflow
  5. Send a test event to validate your setup
  6. Turn on the trigger

Details

This integration uses pre-built, source-available components from Pipedream's GitHub repo. These components are developed by Pipedream and the community, and verified and maintained by Pipedream.

To contribute an update to an existing component or create a new component, create a PR on GitHub. If you're new to Pipedream component development, you can start with quickstarts for trigger span and action development, and then review the component API reference.

Google Drive Overview

The Google Drive API on Pipedream allows you to automate various file management tasks, such as creating, reading, updating, and deleting files within your Google Drive. You can also share files, manage permissions, and monitor changes to files and folders. This opens up possibilities for creating workflows that seamlessly integrate with other apps and services, streamlining document handling, backup processes, and collaborative workflows.

Trigger Code

// This source processes changes to any files in a user's Google Drive,
// implementing strategy enumerated in the Push Notifications API docs:
// https://developers.google.com/drive/api/v3/push and here:
// https://developers.google.com/drive/api/v3/manage-changes
//
// This source has two interfaces:
//
// 1) The HTTP requests tied to changes in the user's Google Drive
// 2) A timer that runs on regular intervals, renewing the notification channel as needed

Trigger Authentication

Google Drive uses OAuth authentication. When you connect your Google Drive account, Pipedream will open a popup window where you can sign into Google Drive and grant Pipedream permission to connect to your account. Pipedream securely stores and automatically refreshes the OAuth tokens so you can easily authenticate any Google Drive API.

Pipedream requests the following authorization scopes when you connect your account:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive

About Google Drive

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service which allows you to create and share your work online, and access your documents from anywhere.

Microsoft SQL Server Overview

With the Microsoft SQL Server API on Pipedream, you can automate your database operations and create powerful integrations. This API allows you to execute queries, manage databases, and trigger actions based on data changes. Implementing workflows that react to database events, manipulate data, or synchronize SQL Server data with other services, becomes effortless with Pipedream's serverless platform.

Action Code

import app from "../../microsoft_sql_server.app.mjs";

export default {
  key: "microsoft_sql_server-execute-query",
  name: "Execute Query",
  description: "Executes a SQL query and returns the results. [See the documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/queries/select-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16)",
  type: "action",
  version: "0.0.4",
  props: {
    app,
    query: {
      type: "string",
      label: "Query",
      description: "The SQL query to execute",
      default: "select * from mytable where id = @input_parameter",
    },
    inputs: {
      type: "object",
      label: "Inputs",
      description: "The inputs to the query. These will be available as @input_parameter in the query. For example, if you provide an input named 'id', you can use @id in the query.",
      optional: true,
    },
  },
  async run({ $: step }) {
    const {
      app,
      inputs,
      query,
    } = this;
    const response = await app.executeQuery({
      query,
      inputs,
    });
    step.export("$summary", "Successfully executed query.");
    return response;
  },
};

Inputsinputsobject

The inputs to the query. These will be available as @input_parameter in the query. For example, if you provide an input named 'id', you can use @id in the query.

Action Authentication

Microsoft SQL Server uses API keys for authentication. When you connect your Microsoft SQL Server account, Pipedream securely stores the keys so you can easily authenticate to Microsoft SQL Server APIs in both code and no-code steps.

Before you connect to your Microsoft SQL Server database from Pipedream, please make sure your database is either:

  1. Accessible from the public internet (You may need to add a firewall rule on 0.0.0.0/0 on port 1433), or
  2. Accessible from a static IP that you've configured from a VPC in Pipedream, and enabled the workflow to connect through that VPC
