# Start here

> What Conduit does and how to start using it.

Conduit connects your AI assistant to the apps and tools you use at work.
Your organization chooses what's available, and you choose which connectors
to enable.

A **connector** lets your assistant work with a particular app. For example,
you could ask your assistant to find a document in Google Drive or create a ticket in Jira by summarizing a thread in Slack.

## Get started

1. [Connect your AI assistant](/docs/conduit/use/connect-clients) to Conduit.
2. [Enable a connector](/docs/conduit/use/connectors) and connect your account if prompted.
3. Ask your assistant to do something with that app.

You need a work account with access to Conduit.
If you can't sign in, contact your Conduit admin.
