YouTube Data Overview#

The YouTube Data API lets you incorporate functions normally executed on the YouTube website into your own website or application. You can perform operations like searching for videos, retrieving channel data, and managing playlists. When integrated with Pipedream's serverless platform, this API can be part of automations that react to events, synchronize YouTube data with other services, or generate custom reports.

On Behalf Of Content Owner	`onBehalfOfContentOwner`	`string`	This parameter can only be used in a properly authorized request. Note: This parameter is intended exclusively for YouTube content partners. The `onBehalfOfContentOwner` parameter indicates that the request's authorization credentials identify a YouTube CMS user who is acting on behalf of the content owner specified in the parameter value. This parameter is intended for YouTube content partners that own and manage many different YouTube channels. It allows content owners to authenticate once and get access to all their video and channel data, without having to provide authentication credentials for each individual channel. The CMS account that the user authenticates with must be linked to the specified YouTube content owner.

Action Authentication#

YouTube Data uses OAuth authentication. When you connect your YouTube Data account, Pipedream will open a popup window where you can sign into YouTube Data and grant Pipedream permission to connect to your account. Pipedream securely stores and automatically refreshes the OAuth tokens so you can easily authenticate any YouTube Data API.

Pipedream requests the following authorization scopes when you connect your account:
