Details

This integration uses pre-built, source-available components from Pipedream's GitHub repo. These components are developed by Pipedream and the community, and verified and maintained by Pipedream.

To contribute an update to an existing component or create a new component, create a PR on GitHub. If you're new to Pipedream component development, you can start with quickstarts for trigger span and action development, and then review the component API reference.

Trigger

Description:Emit new event for each new story that has a matching tag (e.g., javascript)
Version:0.0.3
Key:dev_to-fresh-stories-by-tag

Dev.to Overview

The Dev.to API enables programmatic interaction with Dev.to, a community for software developers to share articles and engage with content. Through the API, you can automate content creation, management, and analysis. Accessing user articles, managing comments, and triggering actions based on Dev.to events are just a few capabilities at your disposal. By leveraging these with Pipedream's serverless platform, you can craft powerful automations that respond in real-time to activities on Dev.to, streamlining your content strategy and community engagement.

Trigger Code

import devTo from "../../dev_to.app.mjs";
import moment from "moment";
import common from "../common.mjs";

export default {
  name: "New Stories for a Tag",
  type: "source",
  description: "Emit new event for each new story that has a matching tag (e.g., javascript)",
  key: "dev_to-fresh-stories-by-tag",
  version: "0.0.3",
  props: {
    ...common.props,
    tag: {
      type: "string",
      label: "Tag",
      description: "Tags to watch",
      optional: true,
      default: "",
    },
    devTo,
  },
  dedupe: "greatest",
  async run({ $ }) {
    const data = await this.devTo.getArticles($, {
      params: {
        per_page: 1000,
        top: 1,
        tag: encodeURIComponent(this.tag),
      },
    });

    data.forEach((event) => {
      this.$emit(event, {
        id: event.id,
        ts: moment(event.published_timestamp).valueOf(),
        summary: event.title,
      });
    });
  },
};

        database_name: databaseName,
      },
    });
    $.export("$summary", `Successfully created database with ID \`${response.id}\``);
